CHECKLIST FOR SETUP/PLAY PROBLEMS
----------------------------------
Before you assume there is something wrong with the door or you
cannot get it to run on your system please check the following.
If you answer yes to any of them you are doing something wrong.
_____ - You forgot to make sure SHARE is loaded (for Multi-node only)
----- - You did not install a RAMDRIVE. Use a RAMDRIVE. Even a
small one. Look up RAMDRIVE in your dos manuel, or for
DOS 6.0+ use HELP RAMDRIVE for help.
_____ - You did not delete ALL the old door files prior setting up
this new version. Applicable ONLY if you are upgrading
from a previous version.
_____ - You forgot to run the CHATSET.EXE program to configure the
NEWCHAT.CTL file first.
_____ - The start up batch routine does not get the drop file
INTO the game directory OR tell the game where the drop
file can be found. Example NEWCHAT /Pc:\bbd
_____ - In this Program you didn't give it the /N(node number)
Example for node 1. NEWCHAT /Pc:bbs /N1
WARNING: If you don't specify a node, 1 is default.
_____ - You attempted to enter a false code in the configuration
or get the correct key code from me directly.
_____ - You are running a fossil but forgot to configure the
appropriate CTL file to show that you are using a fossil
and at what speed you have locked the port.
----- - You have not tried to change to a different drop file format
to see if that might be the problem.
----- - You do NOT have ANSI.SYS installed.
----- - You do NOT have ALL the door files in the same directory?
Meaning you got it from a friend who dind't copy all
the proper files.
2. OK, I have not done anything wrong based on the above. What do I
do now? If it is a door problem fill out the bugrpt.frm completely
and then package it up with any error logs, your CTL file and the
batch routine which runs the game, and transmit it to me SFNET DOOR
conference or log onto my BBS and upload it to me. You can mail it
too if you wish.
